Super Eagles |
More than a few eyebrows were raised on Tuesday when the NFF released a list of 23 players to represent Nigeria in the September 6 contest with a national team coach yet to be named.
It was speculated that the NFF may be forced to name a care taker manager for the Super Eagles with talks over a new contract fr Keshi belived to have stalled.
President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari has now exclusively told supersport.com that that is not the case.
“We are not considering that (naming a care taker coach) because we are still discussing with Keshi. The list of players called up for the game against Congo was sent to us by Keshi,” Maigari said.
Keshi who took the reins of the Nigeria national team in 2011 led the Super Eagles to the title at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
The “Big Boss” then inspired Nigeria to a place in the round of 16 at the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
