Champions League Wrap

Man U
VfL Wolfsburg reached the Champions League last 16 and dealt a knockout blow to Manchester United with a 3-2 victory to claim top spot in Group B and condemn their opponents to the Europa League on Tuesday.
In a dramatic end to a pulsating encounter in Germany, United were set to reach the next round when an own goal by Josuha Guilavogui levelled the scores at 2-2 with eight minutes left.
But Wolfsburg's Brazilian centre back Naldo headed his second of the night, after cancelling out Anthony Martial's opener for United, to leave the visitors needing PSV Eindhoven to lose at home to CSKA Moscow in the group's other game.

Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Zlatan Ibrahimovic set another record as Paris Saint-Germain finished their Champions League pool phase on a positive note in beating Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
Brazilian Lucas Moura broke the deadlock on 57 minutes before record goalscorer Ibrahimovic set the seal on their group A victory with the second four minutes from time.

Real Madrid 8-0 Malmo
Cristiano Ronaldo struck four times to set a new record for goals scored in the Champions League group stage as Real Madrid also equalled the record victory in the competition with an 8-0 mauling of Malmo.
Troubled French striker Karim Benzema also scored his first hat-trick for five years, whilst Mateo Kovacic added his first goal for the Spanish giants.

Wolfsburg 4-2 Manchester United
Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League with a 3-2 defeat at Wolfsburg, who made club history by reaching the knock-out stages. German Cup holders Wolfsburg advanced to the last 16 for the first time as Group B winners thanks to their come-back win at the sold-out Volkswagen Arena.

PSV Eindhoven 2-1 CSKA Moscow
PSV Eindhoven recovered to beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 and secure a place in the Champions League last 16 after a late winner from midfielder Davy Propper in their Group B clash.
Proper struck on the run from the edge of the area in the 86th minute, six minutes after Luuk de Jong had revived home hopes with his 19th goal of the season. They had gone behind to Sergei Ignashevich's penalty in the 76th. The win left PSV in second place on 10 points behind group winners VfL Wolfsburg, who have 12 after winning 3-2 at home to Manchester United.

Group C
Benfica 1-2 Atlético Madrid
Atletico Madrid clinched top spot in Champions League Group C after winning 2-1 at Benfica who only sprung into life in the last 15 minutes of Tuesday's match. Saul Niguez and Luciano Vietto put Diego Simeone's side 2-0 up inside an hour before Kostantinos Mitroglou replied to give hope to Benfica with the Portuguese needing a draw to claim first place in the table.
Galatasaray 1-1 Astana
Selcuk Inan's second-half equaliser helped Galatasaray qualify for the Europa League as they ended their Champions League Group C campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Kazakhstan team Astana.
The Turks spurned two good chances just before Astana took the lead in the 62nd minute when a cross found Patrick Twumasi unmarked at the far post and he beat goalkeeper Fernando Muslera with ease.
Group D
Sevilla 1-0 Juventus
Fernando Llorente came back to haunt his old side Juventus as Sevilla sealed their shot at another Europa League title with a 1-0 win over the Italian champions. Victory for Unai Emery's men allied to Manchester City's come-from-behind 4-2 win against Borussia Moenchengladbach propelled Sevilla into third place in Group D and a place in the competition they have won for the past two years.

Manchester City 4-2 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Raheem Sterling marked his 21st birthday with a decisive brace as Manchester City secured top spot in Champions League Group D by overpowering in-form Borussia Moenchengladbach 4-2.
With 10 minutes left City trailed, goals from Julian Korb and Raffael having cancelled out David Silva's 16th-minute opener, but a stunning late surge by the hosts saw Sterling strike twice in two minutes to put City in charge before substitute Wilfried Bony added a fourth.
