Swansea wants Bony

SWANSEA are in talks with Wilfried Bony after agreeing terms with Manchester City for their former striker, according to reports.

The Ivorian, 28, left the Liberty Stadium for the Citizens in 2015 after a prolific two-year spell in South Wales. And Wales Online claim Swans chiefs are now discussing personal terms, although Bony’s £130,000-a-week contract is a stumbling block.

Swansea signed Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham on loan to boost their strikeforce.

But top scorer Fernando Llorente, 32, is a target for Chelsea as Antonio Conte looks to add depth to his squad.

Chairman Huw Jenkins wants to offer the Spaniard a new two-year deal after his impressive debut season in the Premier League.

But a move to Chelsea would be hard for the 15-goal hitman to turn down – even if he would be in a back-up role.

Swansea have other latenatives to Bony is the works and may only choose to shell out should they lose Llorente. The Ivory Coast powerhouse was in superb form during his first spell at the club and enjoyed his time in South Wales.

But he looked a shell of his former self while on loan at Stoke and represents a risk.

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s future is also up in the air as Everton pursue the Icelandic playmaker. The attacking midfielder refused to travel to the US with the rest of his teammates, who return to training on Wednesday after going unbeaten on tour.

And boss Paul Clement must decide if Sigurdsson should join training or work in isolation.
