Eden Hazard reveals he is still ‘waiting’ to sign a new Chelsea contract

EDEN HAZARD has revealed he is “waiting” to sign a new Chelsea contract but insists there is “nothing” to report yet.
The Belgian is nearing his first appearance of the season as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken ankle. The star has been linked with a blockbuster move to Real Madrid in the past, but he is ready to begin talks with the Premier League champions over an extension to his Stamford Bridge deal.
Hazard is currently with the Belgium squad despite his lack of appearances at club level.
And he is expected to feature against Gibraltar in their upcoming World Cup qualifier.
Speaking ahead of his potential return, the 26-year-old was quizzed on a new Blues contract.
He said: “At the moment there’s nothing. I’m waiting.”
Hazard signed a five-and-a-half-year deal back in February 2015. It was widely-believed that he would pen a new £300,000-a-week deal this summer, but it appears talks are still some way off.
However, he will be boosted by his inclusion for his country.
And depsite his lengthy-absence, the attacker is adamant he is ready for action. He added: “It’s been two weeks since I rejoined the group at Chelsea.
“I have not yet played an official game but I feel good and I’m looking forward to playing.”
