SHKODRAN MUSTAFI has now reportedly emerged as a target for Juventus.
The Arsenal defender is wanted by the Italian giants as a replacement for Leonardo Bonucci after the star’s shock move to AC Milan. And Tuttosport claim that the Old Lady are ready to launch a move to try and prise him away from the Emirates.
Fellow Serie A side Inter Milan are interested in securing his services – although the Mirror claim they initially want him on loan.
But Arsenal are refusing to entertain the idea of allowing the centre-back to leave.
However, despite Arsene Wenger’s reluctance, it is claimed Juve believe they can strike a compromise.
The report claims Wenger could be tempted to do business if he were to receive a replacement in return. And he has his eyes on Juventus’ talented young defender Daniele Rugani.
However, Massimiliano Allegri started the 23-year-old in their Serie A opener at Calgliari last weekend.
He is highly-rated by the Bianconeri and they do not want to lose the ace. Wenger shelled out to sign Mustafi from Valencia last August and he made an instant impact helping to shore up an infamously flimsy backline.
With Brazilian flop Gabriel Paulista moving to Valencia – and Per Mertesacker recovering from a hole in the head – Mustafi is essential to Arsenal’s season.
