WHO needs Kylian Mbappe?
Radamel Falcao spearheaded the champions to a stunning win over Marseille in Ligue 1. The former Manchester United striker netted twice as a rampant Monaco to a scintillating victory.
Fabinho, who is also on the verge of joining PSG, netted the sixth from the spot.
Mbappe was named on the bench — but was never going to be needed by this rampant Monaco side.
Kamil Glik opened the scoring when he headed in Thomas Lemar‘s free-kick with a minute. And, when Fabinho was brought down in the box on 20 minutes, Falcao rammed home from 12 yards to double the hosts’ lead.
The Colombian got his second soon after, with a superb header from Adam Diakhaby’s flick on.
Monaco weren’t finished in the first half and, in stoppage time, Diakhaby netted the fourth — finishing off after an excellent run by Rony Lopes.
It was more of the same after the break as Djibril Sidibe was quickest to react when Glik’s header cannoned back off the post. Two former Newcastle flops then combined as Florian Thauvin set up Remy Cabella to net a consolation for Marseille.
Falcao was subbed off to a standing ovation on 78 minutes — and on 79, Monaco were awarded another spot-kick.
Fabinho coolly stepped up and scored what is likely to be his send off goal.
