Neymar to take Barcelona to court

NEYMAR plans to take Barcelona to court over alleged non-payment of his loyalty bonus, according to reports in Spain.
Following his world-record £198million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, the Brazilian ace is said to be chasing a £23.5m payment he feels he is owed. Despite being paid £515,000 a week after tax, Neymar denied the move was motivated by money after being unveiled by PSG on Friday morning.
“I was never motivated by money,” he said. “It was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made, I was at a great club at Barcelona, I love Barcelona.”
But according to Spanish newspaper Sport, the player and his advisers plan to chase Barcelona hard for an unpaid loyalty bonus.
It reports Neymar was due to receive the sum, under the terms of his contract with Barca, on 31 July.
As his lawyers did not terminate his contract with the Li Liga club until 3 August, Neymar’s camp believes he is entitled to the money.
But Barca chiefs see it differently, according to Sport, and it seems the battle is set for court.
