NEYMAR put in another top-class performance as Paris Saint-Germain continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-0 win over St Etienne.
Goals from Edinson Cavani and Thiago Motta put the French giants in complete control at the Parc des Princes. But all eyes were once again on Neymar following his world-record £198million to Paris, with the Brazilian showing off with a number of mesmerising tricks and runs.
Fellow new signing Dani Alves was left on the bench for this one as St Etienne arrived in the capital with a five-man defence and their own great start to protect.
However, PSG dominated from the off and went 1-0 ahead when Cavani was brought down for a penalty in the 19th minute.
Despite Neymar being on the pitch, the striker took control of the ball and calmly slotted it past the opposition to keeper to put his side in complete control.
PSG continued to out-pass St Etienne and were unlucky not to have scored at least a second before the half-time whistle was blown.
Unai Emery’s men then came out storming in the second half and needed just six minutes to double their lead. Veteran midfielder Motta latched on to a ball whizzing across the St Etienne box and was clearly delighted to help himself to a rare strike.
Angel Di Maria struck the post late on as Golden State Warriors basketball star Stephen Curry watched from the stands.
But it was Cavani who had the final say with a real poacher’s effort just minutes before the final whistle.
And with another win under their belt, PSG are sure to feel like Europe is finally theirs for the taking despite drawing Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages.
