Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals why he has changed his shirt number to 10

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has revealed his new Manchester United number after re-signing for the club.
The strapping Swede is on the mend after his impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford was brought to a premature end following a knee injury. Jose Mourinho splashed out £75million to replace the frontman with Romelu Lukaku this summer – handing the Belgian Zlatan’s No9 shirt in the process.
But after months of speculation regarding his future, the 35-year-old announced last month that he had penned a new deal with United.
And this afternoon he revealed his new “upgraded” shirt number.
In a post on Twitter, he unveiled an image of the United shirt along with the number ten and his name on the back.
And the snap came along with a caption saying: “I never left, I just upgraded my number @ManUtd.”
The legend had been taking his badges for a career in coaching as he nears the later stages of his time on the field.
But the ex-PSG superstar has put them on the back-burner to focus on recovering from his ACL injury, which has kept him out since last season. An Old Trafford source said: “Zlatan had been doing a bit with his badges while he made his comeback from injury.
“The club have indicated there could be a role for him here at some point. He isn’t getting any younger after all.
“He has a lot of belief in himself though and thinks he could play until he is 40, so will take his time with his licences.” The summer transfer window was one the craziest we have ever seen.
