Liverpool 0 Manchester United 0 : David De Dea pulled off a world- class save

DAVID DE DEA pulled off a world-class save to rescue Manchester United.
The Spanish goalkeeper denied Joel Matip with his feet in the first half at Anfield to keep the score goalless. And it was the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock as two bitter rivals cancelled themselves out.
Jose Mourinho was accused of parking the bus at Anfield last season – this time around his side were not as defensive but the result was the same.
The Special One was rueing the international break as Marouane Fellaini and Eric Bailly picked up injuries and Marcus Rashford was only fit enough for the bench.
Liverpool’s Brazilian stars were only arrival back from a 6000-mile journey – but the hosts still looked the livelier of the two teams. Roberto Firmino set up Matip’s chance with run and cross, leading to De Gea’s razor-sharp save with his feet from close range.
The rebound went straight to Mo Salah but the ex-Chelsea winger could not get one over his old boss Mourinho.
Romelu Lukaku had United’s best chance when he exchanged passes with Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – but his finish was a good height for Simon Mignolet to save. United striker Lukaku was also caught up in a stamp row when he appeared to leave the boot in when Dejan Lovren was on the ground.
Martin Atkinson did not see the incident that left hardman Lovren clutching his face.
In the second half Emre Can volleyed off target when Joe Gomez’s perfect cross found him unmarked. Philippe Coutinho also had a tame penalty shout waved away when he went over Ander Herrera’s challenge.
Atkinson also denied a spot-kick to Salah when he fell over Phil Jones’ first-half challenge.
