Philippe Coutinho rejects January switch to Paris Saint-Germain

PHILIPPE COUTINHO has reportedly turned down a move to Paris Saint-Germain in January in favour of a move to Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
The Liverpool star was the subject of numerous bids from the Catalan club in the summer, with Jurgen Klopp determined to keep hold of his prized asset. But according to Spanish news outlet Sport, the 25-year-old is believed to have told his agents to secure him a move to the Nou Camp in the winter transfer window.
Neymar - who made the switch from La Liga to Ligue 1 in August - is keen on his Brazilian compatriot joining him in France, though it looks as though a deal will fail to materialise.
PSG are on the fringes of breaching Financial Fair Play regulations after signing the ex-Santos forward for £198million and Kylian Mbappe on a season-long loan - which will eventually be made permanent in a whopping £166m deal.
The Coupe de France champions' sporting director - Antero Henrique - recently met with Coutinho's representative over a potential £132m transfer. But Coutinho has no interest in linking up with Unai Emery's side, with a move to Barcelona remaining his number one priority.
SunSport revealed on Friday that the Copa del Rey winners will need to sell up to FIVE players if they wish to nab the playmaker away from Anfield. Ernesto Valverde is keen on shipping off Arda Turan, Thomas Vermaelen, Aleix Vidal, Paco Alacer and Andre Gomes - with Manchester United keen on signing the latter.
Coutinho has featured four times for the Reds this season - netting on four occasions - as Liverpool sit ninth in the Premier League table.
