Sam Allardyce would be a good candidate for the vacant Everton manager's job, says Simon Jordan on The Debate Live.
Everton sacked Ronald Koeman earlier in the week, with the club sat in 18th in the Premier League after nine games, having spent over £140m in the summer.
Allardyce is currently out of work having left Crystal Palace in the summer, fresh from keeping them in the Premier League last season. Jordan, speaking on The Debate Live on Sky Sports Premier League, says the former England manager would be a superb appointment for the Toffees. Jordan said: "They've obviously got to get a manager who can look at the group they've got - young players who have been part of a big investment - and build a side.
"The question is: What do they need to get? They need an experienced operator in the Premier League who gets them away from this ridiculous position in the Premier League. "I'd be looking at Sam Allardyce, every day of the week and twice on Sunday, because I think it would be the biggest job he's had in football besides the England job. Bigger than Newcastle, than Sunderland, than Bolton, than Palace.
"I'm not saying this is a fire-fighting job. I'm saying Everton have got Leicester, Watford, Palace, Southampton, West Ham and Huddersfield coming up next.
"I'm looking at them and saying they should be getting decent points out of that. This is a correctional exercise, and then pushing up the league. "I'm not saying Allardyce because he's the perennial fire-fighter, I'm saying it because he's one of the best coaches, best managers in this country."
Craig Bellamy believes Allardyce would not take the job at Goodison Park, and believes caretaker manager David Unsworth should keep hold of the job until the new year.
"I don't see Sam Allardyce taking it. Granted, this isn't the same situation as it was at Palace. He'd have a very good group of players, a very big club, money to spend. "I don't see him being too interested, being out there, day in, day out, and the effort you need to put in.
"I think if it's left with the owner [Moshiri] he will go foreign. If it's left to Bill Kenwright, he will go British.
"For short-term, I would see it making sense for David Unsworth to take over at this present moment. For me, let him get on with it until January, and then see where they are."
