Wayne Rooney has now scored against 36 different Premier League teams

WAYNE ROONEY saved Everton's blushes, and potentially Ronald Koeman's job, as his penalty salvaged a point for the Toffees against Brighton on Sunday.
England's all-time record goalscorer, 31, found the back of the net in the 90th-minute of the 1-1 draw as Everton's dreadful start to the 2017-18 season continues. Having spent around £150million this summer - as well as bringing back Rooney to his boyhood club - Koeman was always under pressure to succeed.
But already things have turned sour as the Toffees sit 16th in the Premier League, with just eight points from their opening eight games.
However, there is some good news for Rooney, who in netting against Brighton has now scored against 36 of the 39 Premier League opponents he has faced.
Only three players - Frank Lampard (39 teams), Andy Cole (38) and Alan Shearer (37) - have scored against more different top-flight teams. Bournemouth's Jermain Defoe has also scored against 36 different Premier League opponents.
Of the three teams Rooney has failed to score against, one of them is Manchester United - the club where he spent the bulk of his career... 13 seasons in fact.
In five games against United, at Everton across two spells, Roo has failed to score.
Incredibly, the two other sides the ex-England man has failed to net against are whipping boys Derby Country and Blackpool - in two attempts against both clubs. At the other end of the scale, the team Rooney loves to lace up his boots for the most are Newcastle.
In his 22 games against the Toon, the Everton ace has scored 14 times.
Rooney has also scored 13 times against Aston Villa, while adding 11 against Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.
