Arsene Wenger set to ESCAPE FA punishment
ARSENE WENGER is set to escape any disciplinary action from the FA over his Raheem Sterling diving comments, according to reports.
The Arsenal boss caused controversy after his side
lost 3-1 to Manchester City
last weekend after
claiming the winger "dives well."
Sterling won a penalty after tangling up with Nacho Monreal
and Wenger disagreed with the decision.
Wenger said: “I believe it was no penalty. We know that
Raheem Sterling
dives well, he does that very well.
“And the third goal was offside. I am very upset because at 2-1 we were in the game.”
He added: "You can accept it if City win in a normal way, they are a good side, but the way it happened is unacceptable." But it is thought Wenger will not be reprimanded for the comments after being adjudged to not have overstepped the mark.
Wenger was critical of referee Michael Oliver’s performance and believes the Premier League leaders always get decisions their way. Wenger said: "I would say overall the referee made the decision today, with the soft penalty and the offside goal.
“But we are used to it when coming here, last year they had two offside goals, and once again."
