Bayern Munich fans launch fake money and unveil banner in protest at £89 tickets in Champions League match

BAYERN MUNICH fans covered the pitch in fake notes in protest of the extraordinary ticket prices for their Champions League encounter.

Supporters from the German giants were charged £89 each for their ticket against Anderlecht.

And whilst many of the Ultras refused to attend, the fans that did turn up wanted to make themselves heard.

Moments before Anderlecht had a corner in the first half, supporters launched hundreds of fake notes on the pitch which postponed play.

The referee was forced to clear the wad of cash off the field whilst supporters held a banner in the stands which read: "Is your greed now finally satisfied... 100€?"

Bayern usually charge around £44 for their matchday tickets.

It is not the first time Bayern supporters have been furious with the price of football across Europe.

In another European encounter against Arsenal last season, the away fans held up a banner and threw toilet roll onto the Emirates pitch.

The Bayern fans also held up a banner that read "Without fans, football is not worth a penny."

Tickets for the game in March ranged from around £75.
