PEP GUARDIOLA played down his side's undefeated record after Man City escaped Huddersfield with three points.
City faced a tough test and a defensive masterclass against the Terriers but managed to fight back from 1-0 down with a converted penalty and a lucky late goal to remain undefeated.
But after the game the Spanish manager admitted there will be a time this season when his team isn't so lucky.
He said: "We are going to lose a game. Today was so close. With one game a week, you are less likely to drop points, but with three games a week and four competitions, it is possible.
"When it happens, I want to see how we are going to react.
“Eighteen wins in a row is amazing, including 11 Premier League wins in a row. We are in a good moment. It was a big win in a real Premier League game." The Blues stormed to the top of the Premier League and sit eight points clear of second-placed arch-rivals Manchester United after 12 wins and a draw against Everton.
But Guardiola understands that his team's bid to remain undefeated will have to withstand tougher tests as winter draws on.
He added: "Winter has come. In these kind of situations, you have less time to recover and it is so physical. Huddersfield defended well. Around their box, it was complicated.
"In the first half, we played good. We have scored one or two in the last minute. To win titles, it's so important. There are no easy games. "With spirit, we can go on. I could see our fans were so happy to see their players fighting to the last second.
"It's all about how you react in situations. It's football. Keep your heads up and be positive to the final kick."
City have home games against Southampton and West Ham as well as a Champions League outing against Shakhtar Donetsk before getting an opportunity to pull even further away from United on December 10.
