Phil Jones injured for England in Germany friendly

MANCHESTER UNITED will be sweating over the fitness of Phil Jones after their star defender was forced off with an injury during England's international friendly with Germany this evening.
The centre-back picked up a knock early on during the exciting clash at Wembley Stadium.

But after being involved in a goal-denying bit of play alongside goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Jones soon collapsed to the ground and was immediately taken off for debutant Joe Gomez.
The timing of the setback is far from ideal for United, who have won just once in their last four Premier League outings.
Last weekend's defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge saw the Red Devils fall eight points behind leaders Manchester City.
And with a match against fierce rival Rafa Benitez on the horizon, Mourinho will be hoping Jones is back sooner rather than later. The 25-year-old has been at Old Trafford since 2011 following a high-profile move from Blackburn.
Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Jones as a future United captain and he is finally proving his worth at the heart of Mourinho's backline. Jones has already made 11 appearances this season and looks to be forging a strong bond with Eric Bailly.
But the likes of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof could now get a chance to shine if scans reveal that Jones is set for a spell on the sidelines.
