Pep Guardiola will Not face sanction by FA over Nathan Redmond confrontation

PEP GUARDIOLA will NOT be sanctioned by the FA after the Manchester City boss screamed in the face of Nathan Redmond.
The 46-year-old confronted the Southampton winger after the full-time whistle at the Etihad last week, moments after the Citizens dramatically won 2-1.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will not be punished by the FA for screaming in Nathan Redmond's face
Journalist Paul Hirst announced on Twitter: "FA taking no action against Pep over the Redmond confrontation."
Guardiola claimed that he was simply complimenting Redmond on his qualities, asking him why he wasn't attacking for his side.
He told Match of the day after the incident: "I was telling Nathan Redmond how good he is at the end. "Southampton have some super talented players, Redmond is so good one against one.
"But they didn't' want to play, they were time wasting from the ninth minute. I just wanted them to play." He later revealed he regretted his angry and aggressive outburst, with the FA reminding the former Spanish international of his responsibilities as a manager.
Redmond backed Pep's claims that there was nothing malicious in what he was saying - strenuously denying reports he was called a 'w****r' after an expert lip reader suggested he made fiery comments. Taking to Twitter to release his own statement, Redmond said: "Yes he was very passionate, intense and aggressive but he was only very complimentary and positive to me.
"He commented on my qualities as a young English player and how he wanted me to attack his team more during the game in a similar way to last season.
"Nothing negative or offensive was said towards me from Pep and that's what makes him one of the best managers in world football."
The news is a massive bonus for City who will have their boss in the dugout for the huge derby clash against rivals Manchester United this Sunday.
The Red Devils have the chance to cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table to just five points should they emerge victorious at Old Trafford.
