PSG 3 Caen 1: Kylian Mbappe birthday goal help keep Ligue 1 leaders nine points clear

EDINSON CAVANI'S rabona eclipsed Kylian Mbappe's birthday goal as PSG's latest romp kept them nine points clear in Ligue 1.
Uruguayan striker Cavani's superb 21st minute opener set up another dominant display from the big-spenders against mid-table Caen.
Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe hail their decisive goals as PSG beat Caen
Mbappe struck on 57 minutes before left-back Yuri Berchiche rifled home the third goal late on.
Neymar missed out, though, as PSG made it 16 wins from 19 league games.
And boss Unai Emery was frustrated to see Ivan Santini bag a stoppage-time penalty consolation for Caen.
PSG swept the visitors aside from the start with the speed and invention of their passing in the final third of the field. And early on Mbappe snaked into the area to drill a clear chance off-target.
But eventually class told as Mbappe roared to the right byline before pulling the ball back for Cavani to flash home a right-footer from behind his other foot.
Mbappe thumped home another thrilling goal after the right-side of Caen's defence was torn apart.
And Berchiche's first PSG goal - following a deft pass from Neymar - showed that the big-spenders have finishing power from all positions and all angles. Berchiche shifted away from a poor challenge with the skill of a winger before hammering the ball into the far corner.
Meanwhile, second-placed Monaco snatched a late victory over Rennes.
Radamel Falcao's opener midway through the first period was cancelled out by Wahbi Khazi just before the hour.
But Keita Balde Diao kept the champions' faint hopes of catching PSG alive with a winner on 81 minutes.
