Neymar has taken a step backwards by joining PSG according to Ronaldo
The 25-year-old has been an instant hit in the French capital with 20 goals from his first 22 appearances.
PSG sold the ambition to Neymar that he would be their main man in their quest to become champions of Europe.
But Ronaldo believes his decision to play for PSG is a bad career move.
Reported by AS, the 41-year-old said: "Sportingly, the decision is a step back. "But there are challenges that everyone seeks. I played in Barcelona at the time and went to Inter when the Italian championship was much more competitive."
Neymar could be heading back to La Liga in the future if reports in Spain deem to be true.
Marca claim Real Madrid are plotting a sensational switch for Neymar at the end of next season. There are various factors which have given Real Madrid confidence they can finalise one of the most controversial transfers in history. At Fifa's "The Best" gala, the Brazilian's entourage was sat near the Spanish giants' representatives, while he was also see with am ambassador from the reigning La Liga champions in recent days.
Club President Florentino Perez also suggested Neymar would stand a much better chance of winning the highly-coveted Ballon d'Or
