The Super Eagles lost the game 0-2 to Les Blues at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha, Brasília on June 30 but Enyeama insists that things could have gone so differently.
“It was a great one (tournament for us) even though we were eliminated by France,” Enyeama told the Ligue 1 show.
Germany went on to win the title after disposing of France in the quarters, a result that was met with surprise by Enyeama.
“I was actually expecting them (France) to go past Germany because if we had beaten France, I am sure we would have given Germany a very good run for their money.
“Germany, for us, was not really much of a problem and we just wanted to get past France to build our confidence.
“But that is life, it goes on,” he added philosophically.
Enyeama is widely expected to be named Nigeria’s new captain following the retirement of Joseph Yobo after the world cup.
The 31-year-old who has been capped 94 times by Nigeria at senior level has been called up for the Super Eagles’ 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Congo on September 6.
