Liverpool become sixth Premier League team to concede 1,000 goals

LIVERPOOL endured yet another weekend to forget as they were humiliated 4-1 by Tottenham at Wembley.
Spurs tore apart Liverpool’s joke of a defence with Harry Kane scoring twice along with Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli. Mohamed Salah made it 2-1 but Mauricio Pochettino's men were far too good for the Reds who, despite the 7-0 battering of Maribor – have now won just twice in ten games.
Liverpool appear to be two different teams, depending on which half of the pitch they are playing in.
In attack, they can seem unstoppable at times - particularly when the injured Sadio Mane is playing.
But in defence they look embarrassingly weak and in shipping four times against Spurs this weekend, they reached another unwanted milestone. Kane's first strike meant Liverpool have now become just the SIXTH team to concede 1,000 goals in the history of the Premier League.
However, Tottenham lead the way with an astonishing 1,237 goals conceded. Spurs let in the magic number nearly six years ago - against Wolves in a 1-1 draw in January 2012, with Steven Fletcher scoring.
Everton come in second with 1,225 goals allowed - with the four-figures brought up against Stoke in December 2012, another 1-1 with Kenwyne Jones the man responsible. Aston Villa (1,186) sit at No3, having conceded their 1,000th against Manchester City in 2013... in a shock 3-2 win.
West Ham (1,163) and Newcastle (1,148) complete the top five, having both reached the milestone in 2014, against Everton and Southampton respectively.
Saints are the side next in danger of reaching the magic 1,000 mark - currently on 975 goals allowed.
