Fans Choose Victor Moses Over Peter Odemwingie

Victor Moses
Hundreds of Stoke City fans have voted Victor Moses as man of the match on his debut against Portsmouth.
An online Sentinel poll has seen Moses receive an average mark of 8.65 out of 10, with striker, Jonathan Walters (8.45) the only other player over eight.
Walters scored twice in a 3-0 win, while Moses caught the eye with some dazzling skills.
Peter Odemwingie started the game and was substituted in the second half but it was Moses that hogged the headlines for the right reasons.
The 23-year-old completed a season-long loan switch from Chelsea earlier this month and showed with his display at the Britannia Stadium that he still has much in his locker.
As early as the fifth minute, Moses showed he was in the mood when he embarked on a trademark waltzing run down the left, twisting and turning like a contortionist before seeing his cross blocked for a corner.
The former Wigan Athletic winger scored on his debut for Liverpool last season and he almost repeated the trick against Pompey in the 17th minute as his curling effort was beaten out acrobatically by goalkeeper, Paul Jones.
Jones again denied Moses in the 21st minute, this time, of an assist as his fine cross was met by a Jonathan Walters header.
Moses continued to dictate the play and just past the half hour mark, he unleashed a venomous strike that seemed destined for the top right corner but a deflection earned Stoke a corner instead.
Stoke increased their lead to 2-0 a minute after the restart and predictably, Moses was involved.
The electrifying winger burst free on the left before coolly rolling in a low cross into the six yard box and a grateful Walters stroked home to virtually guarantee the win.
Moses received the official man of the match award following his display.
The assistant manager of Stoke, Mark Bowen, was extravagant in his praise of the Nigerian afterwards as he described him as “a revelation”.
“Victor was a revelation, running at players and creating chances and creating a good goal for Jon (Jonathan Walters),” he told the club’s official website, www.stokecityfc.com.
Moses has now put himself in strong contention for a starting role in Stoke’s next game - a daunting Premier League encounter against the champions, Manchester City, on Saturday.
