Hiddink is outdated-Boer

Hiddink
“Outdated” Guus Hiddink is under immense scrutiny following Netherlands’ sluggish start to the European Qualifiers, says Ronald de Boer.
The Dutch lost 2-0 in Iceland on Monday evening and sit third in in Group A on three points, six behind Iceland and Czech Republic, the side they lost to in September.
Netherlands have won just once in four matches since Hiddink began his second stint in charge of the national team, coming from behind to beat minnows Kazakhstan 3-1.
And Dutch legend De Boer told Sky Sports that if fans had had their way, a younger coach, such as Southampton’s former Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman, would have succeeded Louis van Gaal after the country’s third-place finish in the World Cup.

“There will be lot of criticism towards Hiddink back home,” said the former midfielder, who won 67 international caps and was named Dutch Footballer of the Year in both 1994 and 1996.
“There was already doubt when he got nominated for the job and now there will only be more.
"He is under enormous pressure and has a lot of explaining to do.

“We are known for our game-plan in Holland - we had one with Van Gaal, who is a much better coach than Hiddink, but I don’t see a game-plan at the moment.
“It’s like they say: ‘Give it to Robin van Persie or Arjen Robben and they will make the difference’ because there are not midfielders running in [to support the attack].
“Hiddink has a great record but in my eyes he is done because he is 67-years-old and his ideas are old-fashioned.
"Guus puts his arm around players and laughs, but these boys need guidance."

“Koeman, who really wanted the job, showed with Feyenoord that he can really shape a team and he also knows the mentality of those young boys.
“Guus is more of a people manager and someone who puts his arm around players and laughs.
"But these boys need guidance and to be told what to do as a team.“
