Jefferson: Brazil teamwork vital for clean sheets

The Brazil goalkeeper has made four consecutive shut-outs since becoming Brazil's undisputed No.1 and said defending as a unit had been key to their success
Brazil goalkeeper Jefferson says his four consecutive clean sheets are due to Dunga’s insistence that the entire team defend as a unit.
The Selecao marched to their fourth straight victory under Dunga on Tuesday as Neymar scored all four goals in a 4-0 victory over Japan at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Jefferson succeeded Julio Cesar as Brazil’s No.1, having started every game since the World Cup, and he puts Brazil’s fine run of form down to the change in tactics from the new coaching staff.
"It is good to see Dunga’s philosophy is working for us," he told SporTV.
"It's not just the defenders, we are doing all as he has asked. You can see Neymar, Oscar and Willian helping the defence and it’s much easier this way.
"We have to keep keeping clean sheets and scoring at the other end."
Jefferson was the hero in Saturday’s 2-0 Superclasico de las Americas victory over Argentina, capping a fine performance by saving a Lionel Messi penalty in the first-half.
He had much less to do against Japan but was called into action towards the end of the game when he tipped Kakitani’s looping header over the bar.
"Life as a goalkeeper can be like that," he said. "Sometimes we are working throughout the game, but sometimes it is just one or two balls, so we have to be focused and prepared.
"We played well against Japan and I had to stay focused because at the very end I had to do some work and help the team to remain unbeaten and without conceding a goal."
