ASHLEY COLE will not move from LA Galaxy to Birmingham this summer without a battle.
Brum boss Harry Redknapp wants the 36-year-old former England defender at St Andrew’s. But Galaxy head coach Curt Onalfo said: “He’s a really important part of our team, Ashley brings a level of experience.
“He’s certainly in my plans and I want to have him stay here.”
Cole is thought to be on £300,000 a year but is settled in Los Angeles, in a relationship and has a young son.
The left-back moved to the US in 2016 after a difficult two-year spell with Roma.
He is a three-time Premier League-winner, having claimed titles with both Arsenal and Chelsea and the most successful player in FA Cup history with seven medals.
Cole also claimed the Champions League with the West London giants in 2012.
