Conte eyes four more signings

ANTONIO CONTE is after FOUR more signings — so Chelsea can fight for all four trophies this season.
The Blues boss aims to smash the record for a single transfer window having already spent £140million. Conte still wants Virgil van Dijk from Southampton, Juventus wing-back Alex Sandro and Inter Milan’s Antonio Candreva — as revealed by SunSport.
The Stamford Bridge boys are also looking at Swansea’s veteran Spanish striker Fernando Llorente, 32, and 19-year-old Everton midfielder Tom Davies.
But Brazilian left-back Sandro, 26, remains Conte’s top target, while Dutchman Van Dijk, 26, is desperate to quit the Saints.
Chelsea are willing to eclipse the record £217.8m Manchester City have spent so far, although Etihad chiefs may not have ended their splurge.
Conte has signed £65m Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco for £40m, Antonio Rudiger in a £34.2m deal from Roma and Willy Caballero on a free.
But the Italian warns Chelsea MUST keep spending ahead of their return to the Champions League.
He said: “We will put ourselves fully into all four competitions next season. “We have one competition extra — but are working very hard to improve the team.
“To be in Europe next season is great for the club and the players are enthusiastic, so we must prepare in the right way.”
Conte’s pre-season plans step up a gear today with a friendly against Bayern Munich before facing Inter at the weekend. Asked about 30-year-old Italian winger Candreva, Conte added: “He is Inter’s and I have great respect for him, his team and also for my players.”
Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti believes his old club will be a force next season in Europe.
He said: “Their team is better. Last year was fantastic for them. Antonio changed the mentality of the team and style of play.”
