Dani Alves hands PSG first trophy

DANI ALVES capped his competitive debut with a world class goal and an assist as Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to sink rivals Monaco.

The 34-year-old Brazilian, who signed on a free, lashed a stunning free-kick into the top corner to bring his side level against the French champions. And moments later his pinpoint cross was met by Adrien Rabiot as Unai Emery’s side lifted the French Super Cup.
Monaco headed into the clash with a new-look squad having lost three key players in big-money moves to the Premier League.
But they still had the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Radamel Falcao and Thomas Lemar in their talented starting line-up.
And whilst PSG dominated possession in the first half, a devastating counter-attack by Monaco was brilliantly finished off by Arsenal target Djibril Sidibe.
Fabinho, another who has been linked away from Monaco, played a perfect pass into Sidibe who delicately lifted the ball over the keeper and into the net.
Unai Emery obviously had some harsh words for his side at the interval as PSG came out a completely different side. It took less than 20 minutes for the match to be turned on its head all inspired by Alves.
His equaliser was something to saviour as his free-kick from 30 yards flew into the top corner leaving the keeper helpless.
The goalscorer then turned provider when his cross landed on the head of Rabiot whose bullet header found the roof of the net.
Monaco pushed for an equaliser but Falcao's late header flew inches past the post.
