PSG refused discussion on Neymar's move

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN refused to discuss Neymar’s potential world record move from Barcelona at a hastily arranged press conference on Tuesday.
Football fans around the globe were sparked into a frenzy when the French side called a media briefing just 30 minutes apart from their Spanish counterparts. The Brazilian star’s name has been the talk of the world – but he was strictly off limits as Unai Emery and Edinson Cavani spoke to journalists.
Neymar has reportedly grown tired of living in Lionel Messi’s shadow at the Nou Camp and is on the verge of a sensational £195million move to the Parisians.
SunSport revealed recently that PSG and the attacker had already agreed personal terms, where he is in line to earn £27million-a-year after tax.
Yesterday it was reported that the French club had the contract waiting on the table for the former Santos man, and all he has to do now is put pen-to-paper.
The move would contradict Barca teammate Gerard Pique’s Twitter post on Sunday where he uploaded a picture of the two, captioning it: “He stays.”
Barca had hoped Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez had successfully convinced Neymar to shun the interest from PSG, but the pair appeared to have failed as he nears his stunning move. In 186 games for Barcelona in all competitions, the 2016 Olympic gold medal winner netted a staggering 105 times.
He proved to be a massive hit in Catalonia during his four season stay, winning two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey’s, one Champions League and one FIFA Club World Cup.
Both PSG and Barca are also in talks over midfielder Marco Verratti’s future. The Italian had yet another outstanding season at the Parc des Princes, with the Catalans desperate to bring him to the Nou Camp.
It was also speculated that the joint press conferences could have been to announce his move to Spain.
However, to the disappointment of many, they were simply pre-match media briefings ahead of their respective International Champions Cup clashes.
