Sigurdsson up for transfer

GYLFI SIGURDSSON has left out of Swansea’s squad for their pre-season clash at Birmingham City amidst transfer speculation.
The club reveal it was always the plan to rest their Icelandic star due to his turbulent summer, with a trio of Premier League giants chasing his signature. The Swans face the Championship outfit at St Andrew’s at 3pm on Saturday.
On Sigurdsson‘s omission, the club said: “Gylfi Sigurdsson will not feature as it was agreed between the club and player that he would sit this game out due to the current transfer speculation surrounding him.”
Everton have already seen a £40million bid for the Icelandic ace rejected, while Leicester – set to lose Riyad Mahrez this summer have also had a bid rejected.
Swansea are hoping to make at least £50m for their star player – who has been at the club since leaving Tottenham, who are also interested in the midfielder, in 2014.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Swansea added Tammy Abraham would have the chance to shine for the first time at the Premier League outfit.
The club said: “Paul Clement’s squad have already played four games during the pre-season period, including a three-match tour of America with friendlies against Philadelphia Union, Richmond Kickers and North Carolina. "This test against Harry Redknapp’s side will allow Swans fans to see Tammy Abraham in action for the first time on British soil after he marked his first appearance by scoring the winner during the 2-1 victory over the Kickers.
Swansea squad:
Lukasz Fabianski, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Erwin Mulder, Kyle Naughton, Angel Rangel, Mike van der Hoorn, Alfie Mawson, Federico Fernandez, Stephen Kingsley, Martin Olsson, Roque Mesa, Leon Britton, Jay Fulton, Leroy Fer, Tom Carroll, Wayne Routledge, Luciano Narsingh, Oli McBurnie, Jordan Ayew, Tammy Abraham.
