UEFA bans Eric Bailly

UEFA have moved to ban Eric Bailly for two MORE matches after his red card against Celta Vigo.
The Manchester United centre-back already missed the Europa League final after a moment of madness in the dying stages of the Europa League semi-final in May. But the governing body has moved to give Bailly a longer ban – leaving him out of the Super Cup against Real Madrid and the first match of next season’s Champions League group stage.
Manchester United have also received a warning for the late kick-off against Celta Vigo in May.
Bailly was sent off with just seconds remaining in the semi-final second leg at Old Trafford.
United appeared all but assured of reaching the final, when Bailly lost his head in the final minutes.
The Ivorian lashed out at former Manchester City striker John Guidetti – who missed a sitter that would have sent Celta to the final.
Bailly grabbed the Swede round the throat as players from both teams clashed in the dying moments.
The scrap continued with Bailly then furious at Celta star Facundo Roncaglia. He appeared to punch Bailly in the neck during the melee – and the two players had to be pulled apart as they walked towards the tunnel.
Uefa announced Bailly would be suspended for three matches.
As Bailly already missed the victorious Europa League final, he will miss the first two matches he is eligible for next season.
Mourinho’s men qualified for the Champions League after beating Ajax 2-0 in Stockholm.
Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were on target.
