Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta can start negotiating with new clubs in four months

BARCELONA legends Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta will be free to talk to other clubs in four months.
Despite losing Brazil attacker Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record £198million, the Spanish giants have yet to seal new deals for two of their most popular stars ever. Barca were thought to have agreed a contract with five-time world player of the year Messi in July until 2021.
But nothing has been signed – adding to the tension around Camp Nou.
New boss Ernesto Valverde is in a awkward situation as he attempts to stabilise his squad following the shock exit of Neymar.
And critics have circled after Barcelona once again have left it late over new contracts.
Midfield pivot Iniesta, 33, hinted at his unease in an interveiw with respect Spanish newspaper El Pais.
And if such murmurings are coming from a veteran of 119 games for Spain, plus well over 400 for Barca, then you can be sure something is not quite right at Camp Nou. Barcelona, though, will do all they can to keep regular Manchester City target Messi, 30.
Having lost Neymar, their fans would not accept losing the main prong of a famous three-man strikeforce that is completed by former Liverpool hero Luis Suarez.
Messi has hit 349 goals in 383 matches for Barca, compared to 58 from 118 games for Argentina.
