Tottenham track Barcelona star Andre Gomes for January move

TOTTENHAM’S interest in Barcelona outcast Andre Gomes puts a question mark over Ross Barkley’s future.

The Portuguese midfielder cannot get in the Barca side and will look to leave to keep his place in the national team. Gomes, 24, has not lived up to his billing and is stuck in the shadow of Andres Iniesta, 33, with the interest in Philippe Coutinho even worse for him.

Spurs have been tipped off Gomes will be let out in the next window.

Their tracking of Gomes puts doubt against a January move for Barkley.

The Everton contract rebel would involve a big fee, whereas Gomes may even get to go on loan or for a fee of £20million.

Meanwhile, Spurs have looked to tie down Dele Alli on a new long-term deal.

The England ace has opened talks over a new contract that will see him bag more than £100,000-a-week.
