YAYA TOURE’S agent has gone on the offensive against Pep Guardiola and insisted the Manchester City star is “in great shape”.
The midfield powerhouse is yet to see a minute of competitive action for City this season. He did not even make the bench against Liverpool last weekend, with Guardiola claiming the player “knows the reason why”.
And the Spaniard further claimed there are “sporting reasons” behind Toure’s exile.
The Premier League winner will not feature in the Champions League clash against Feyenoord tonight.
However, Toure’s agent Dimitry Seluk claimed his man’s lack of game time was all down to the choices of the Etihad manager.
Seluk tweeted: “Yaya is in great shape. He will prove it. He is fit to play. It’s up to Guardiola to decide.”
Toure signed a one-year contract extension in June. But just last September Seluk had another run-in with Guardiola over Toure's lack of playing time.
The former Barcelona chief axed Toure from his Champions League squad.
And he refused to play him again until he received an apology from the outspoken agent.
