CHELSEA could be planning to replace Antonio Conte with fellow Italian Maurizio Sarri, according to reports.
The Blues have struggled to find form this term, with just 16 points from their first nine outings. The Premier League champions are working towards an approach for the Napoli boss, according to Football Italia.
Sarri's side are currently second in Serie A, but if they win their game in hand then they will jump above above Inter Milan.
Napoli have won eight of their first nine in the Italian top flight.
The 58-year-old has a release clause in his contract worth £6.75million - a small fee for a club as financially backed as Chelsea. According to Italian outlet 7 gold, the Blues are drafting an offer that includes a salary of £9m-a-season.
Sarri has established himself as one of Europe's top football chiefs after earning rave reviews at the Stadio San Paolo. He recently signed a new three-year contract after originally only penning a single season deal in Italy.
After joining the club in 2015, the Italian set a new team record for the most consecutive league victories with eight. Conte has fallen out of favour at the Bridge, with Chelsea nine points behind Manchester City in the Premier League standings.
The Blues will have a point to prove when they host Everton in the Carabao on Wednesday.
