Five things learnt from Tottenham 4 Liverpool 1

TOTTENHAM'S storming win over Liverpool spoke volumes in title race.
A Harry Kane double, and goals from Son Heung-min and Dele Alli moved Spurs level on points with Manchester United in second. But the Reds are now ninth below Watford, Newcastle and Burnley, and 12 points behind leaders Manchester City.
Here, SunSport looks at five things from the Wembley showdown.

WEMBLEY HOODOO LIFTED

SPURS are starting to enjoy some 'home' comforts. Mauricio Pochettino's side have won four times in all competitions at the national stadium since losing to Chelsea in August.
And with three wins in their last three Wembley matches, the curse seems to have been lifted. Much like Harry Kane's August hoodoo . . .

THE PRODIGAL SON

THE 'Harry Kane Team' are not as single-minded as Pep Guardiola believes.
Yes, Kane scored twice and actually set up Son for his goal - but did we not all know of the England striker's class? Son's effectiveness, however, has gone under the radar at times this season. The South Korean - much like Mo Salah at Liverpool - offered penetration and pace which Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen do not quite possess. Son's darting movement allowed space for his team-mates and his passing was spot on. His first-time half volley for his goal was not bad either.

NO REDS LOV-IN

DEFENDING as a unit is a must - but good defenders makes everybody's life a whole lot easier.
And Dejan Lovren kept his Liverpool pals on the back foot for the half hour he was on the pitch. Klopp hauled the Croat off after individual errors led to Spurs' first two goals and the team actually looked more comfortable. He reportedly has not trained this week and almost missed out due to a back problem. Perhaps his speedy recovery was more of a poisoned chalice.

SCOUTING NETWORK

REAL MADRID have a better eye for quality than TV network HBO.
SunSport exclusively revealed Los Blancos believe they have secured their next Galactico in Kane next summer - and are lining up Pochettino as Zinedine Zidane's successor. Kane's brilliant brace today - he is already on 15 for the season - and his manager's tactical astuteness have only increased their already soaring stock.

PASS 'N LOSE

IT is rare for Tottenham to allow the opposition to have the ball.
Against Bournemouth and Swansea they averaged a staggering 74 per cent possession, and even managed 68 per cent in their defeat against Chelsea. But with just 35 per cent today, Pochettino showed that his team can adjust and win in different ways.
Liverpool have averaged 62 per cent in their last three Premier League games and are used to dominating the ball.
But their reluctance to prioritise their shape and defensive positioning today bit them in the backside.
