Kylian Mbappe wins Golden Boy award

KYLIAN MBAPPE has been named the 2017 European Golden Boy.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker beat off competition from Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele to bag the coveted award. The news was broken by Italian outlet Tuttosport this morning, who originally started the awarding.
Mbappe has scored four goals in eight games since he made a summer loan move from Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain.
He is expected to complete a £100m-plus move to the French giants at the end of the season.
Mbappe forms part of a potent front three for the Ligue 1 leaders alongside Edinson Cavani and the world's most expensive player Neymar. Last season Mbappe bagged 24 goals in all competitions.
Man City's Jesus and Barcelona's injured winger Dembele will have to settle for the runners-up places. Jesus has been in brilliant form since completing his move to City in January.
The 20-year-old initially displaced Sergio Aguero from the starting line but Pep Guardiola has often used the duo in tandem this season. He has scored 10 goals in 16 games this season, and 13 goals in 20 games since joining City from Palmeiras in August 2016.
Things aren't so great for Dembele however since his £135m move to the Nou Camp.
Newspapers from all across the continent vote, these are Bild (Germany), Blick (Switzerland), A Bola (Portugal), l'Equipe (France), France Football (France), Marca (Spain), Mundo Deportivo (Spain), Ta Nea (Greece), Sport Express (Russia), De Telegraaf (Netherlands) and The Times (UK). ALL nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation's top tier.
Each voter is allowed to nominate five players, the juror will allocate 10 points to the player that they perceive as the most impressive, seven for second, five third, three fourth, and one point for fifth most impressive.
The player with the most points wins, simple as that.
