RONALD KOEMAN admits he could be sacked by Everton after their thrashing at the hands of Arsenal left them deep in relegation trouble.
The Dutchman has been under intense pressure in recent weeks after a miserable run of results has seen the Toffees slide into the relegation zone, despite his huge spending spree last summer. Despite taking the lead against the Gunners at Goodison on Sunday, the North London side hit back and tore the Blues to shreds on their way to a 5-2 win on Merseyside.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright were in attendance for the latest setback.
And Koeman, 54, revealed afterwards he is unsure whether they will keep faith with him or wield the axe.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I don’t know [if the defeat will cost him his job]. "I told the players I believe in them, their commitment.
"If you are negative thinking and everything is doing that at this moment I can understand it. "You can take all things in a negative way and even not telling everybody that we stayed with 10 men after 1-2.
"It’s a final result that is really poor but once again all these kind of decisions are not in my hands." Former boss David Moyes is the latest name to be linked with Koeman’s job.
The Scotsman spent 11 years at Goodison before leaving in 2013 to replace Sir Alex Ferguson in what turned out to be a disastrous spell at Old Trafford.
Since then he has endured a difficult time at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad before overseeing Sunderland’s relegation last term.
