Mauricio Pochettino salutes his ‘amazing’ Tottenham team after they skewer Real Madrid to reach Champions League knock-out round

MAURICIO POCHETTINO labelled his Tottenham team “amazing” after they took on the mighty Champions League and La Liga kings and thumbed them 3-1.
Real Madrid were thoroughly humbled at Wembley as ex-MK Dons kid Dele Alli struck twice and Spurs academy freebies Harry Kane and Harry Winks helped steal the show.

Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. were made to look distinctly average by a side famously operating on a tiny slice of their Galacticos wage bill.
And their manager was buzzing, not just with the result but in the manner and with the swagger with which they got it.
Poch said: “An amazing victory for us.
"I am so happy, I am very proud of my players, they made a fantastic performance. “I’m pleased for our fans. Amazing victory at Wembley.
“Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United, all the same, it’s about performance every week, trying to move on and win. “Of course that victory is so important for us and the club because it’s Real Madrid, the best team in the world, and it’s fantastic to feel you can beat them
“But it’s a long way to the end of the season and the important thing is trying to achieve our targets and I think we must show it today but thinking about Sunday."
Sunday is back to reality with a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. The desperate Eagles are bottom of the Premier League but it’s the sort of walk-over fixture a title contender must march through.
Poch said: “It’s a great belief for everyone, confidence, but it’s so important now to keep our feet on the grass because it’s a great result, we are in next stage of the Champions League and it’s so important with two games ahead.
“It’s important to compete against Crystal Palace. I know, it’s an important victory but like a manager you must not stop to think and must move on.”
