FOMRER Prem referee Mark Halsey gives his verdict on Lukaku escaping a ban for his attempted kicks on Gaeten Bong.
I am amazed that all three former referees on the FA retrospective panel did not view Lukaku’s double kick on Bong as an act of violent conduct.
What on earth were they watching?
Lukaku was guilty of violent conduct under Law 12 when he attempted to kick Bong TWICE.
In fact, the second kick actually made contact with the Brighton defender in the crown jewels.
Lukaku is an extremely lucky boy and I’m sure Jose Mourinho and Manchester Unitedwere expecting a charge brought against their striker. The decision makes a mockery of the review panel and off-the-ball incidents not seen by the match officials.

There is no consistency either. Tell me what’s the difference between what Lukaku did and Birmingham’s Paul Robinson against Aston Villa in April?
One got off scot free and the other received a three-match ban - that says it all.
