Chelsea boss Antonio Conte fined £8,000 by FA after Swansea sending off

ANTONIO CONTE has escaped a ban after he was sent of during Chelsea’s Premier League win over Swansea.
The Chelsea boss was hit with a misconduct charge after reacting in anger at the failure to award his side a corner during the 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian was sent to the stands by referee Neil Swarbrick towards the end of the first half of the game after furiously protesting against the award of a Swansea goal-kick.
Conte apologised to Swarbrick and fourth official Lee Mason following the match at Stamford Bridge on November 29.
But the Football Association still decided to discipline him with misconduct – a charge Conte, 48, admitted.
Yet a disciplinary panel has decided the incident was not worthy of a touchline ban, and hit Conte with an £8,000 fine instead. The FA announced: “Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been fined £8,000 after he admitted an FA misconduct charge and accepted the standard penalty.
“It follows his sending-off against Swansea City on 29 November.” Conte’s side travel to relegation-threatened West Ham on Saturday with David Moyes still looking for his first win after four matches in charge.
They then travel to a Huddersfield side who have lost their last four in the league and who are now tumbling down the table.
Southampton and Everton are the next two sides up in the league for Conte’s team, with an EFL Cup quarter-final against Bournemouth in between.
The run of matches give Chelsea the perfect opportunity to keep alive their slim hopes of retaining the title, while also moving them a step closer to a League Cup final place.
