Danny Rose storms down the tunnel with nasty eye injury but fails to acknowledge Mauricio Pochettino

DANNY ROSE further fuelled speculation that his relationship with boss Mauricio Pochettino has hit rock bottom after his reaction to being substituted.
The England left-back was involved in a tussle with APOEL Nicosia’s Roland Sallai just after the hour mark.
Danny Rose required stitches near his eye and was taken off by manager Pochettino
Rose, 27, ended up shoving Sallai which resulted in the defender picking up a yellow card.
But in the midst of the trouble, Rose picked up a nasty injury above his eye and Pochettino decided to sub off the left-back in replace of Kyle Walker-Peters.
Rose required five stitches but was far from happy at being taken off and stormed straight down the tunnel having failed to acknowledge the Argentine gaffer.
Pochettino didn’t look impressed either and gave Rose a stare as he walked into the dressing room – but they later patched up their differences with a full-time high five. The feud between the two dates back to Rose’s sensational interview with SunSport back in August where he admitted his intentions were to move back north and demand a wage that he’s worth.
But it was reignited in November when the defender was left furious after being left out of the squad to face north London rivals Arsenal.
Pochettino claimed he wasn’t 100 per cent fit but Rose disputes these claims.
The player did emerge at the end of Spurs’ 3-0 win over the Cypriot side and shared a handshake with the gaffer. Some Spurs fans were unimpressed with the incident, while others simply understood why he was angry after feeling the yellow card was harsh.
There is no doubt Welshman Ben Davies has leapfrogged Rose as Spurs’ first choice man on the left side of the wing-back formation.
Pochettino said after the game: “Never the player is happy when they are going out. He was with a big cut and the doctors say he need a stitch and it was impossible to follow the play.
“Of course the players are frustrated because it’s an opportunity to play Champions League and play football but it was an accident, but nothing wrong.”
