Jose Mourinho ‘hit on head with water and milk’ in furious dressing room bust-up with Manchester City keeper Ederson

JOSE MOURINHO was at the centre of a 20-man tunnel melee after Manchester City outplayed Manchester United to move 11 points clear – with the United boss allegedly being hit on the head with water and milk.
Mourinho barged into the City dressing room to confront Pep Guardiola’s players over their “raucous” celebrations following the 2-1 derby victory.

The Old Trafford boss, and striker Romelu Lukaku, accused City of provocation with the victory songs being sung as the dressing room blasted out loud music.
Mourinho is understood to have accused City keeper Ederson of lacking “respect” as the angry words escalated into a bout of pushing and shoving that saw stewards and the police getting involved.
There were even claims that milk, water and a bottle were thrown at Mourinho at the height of the ruck, although those were being downplayed last night.
But one eye witness told SunSport: “People couldn’t believe what they were seeing. “It was going crazy for a few seconds, with loads of screaming and shouting. It looked like it might get completely out of control.”
Mourinho, furious at referee Michael Oliver for booking Ander Herrera for a second half dive which he was convinced should have brought a penalty for a foul by match-winner Nicolas Otamendi, had stalked down the tunnel at the end of the game. The United boss had passed by the City dressing room to head towards the home enclave when the throbbing bass of the music being boomed out as the door open saw him turn around and head back.
It is understood that the United boss then confronted Ederson, accusing him of play-acting and wasting time in the latter stages of the game. The City players roared back in support of their keeper as Mourinho shouted at him: “Show some respect! Show some respect!”
Tempers then flared as insults flew both ways and the music volume was ramped up while Guardiola’s players mocked United with their victory songs, baiting the United boss as they whooped and hollered.
As angry words were exchanged, Lukaku was said to have become involved, with City backroom staff pushing back as the United contingent attempted to force their way through the doorway area.
It was at this stage that City staff were claimed to have launched a fusillade of water and milk, with one carton said to have split and poured liquid over Mourinho after it rebounded off a wall.
But people close to Guardiola’s side alleged their staff did nothing wrong.
They say they were merely provoked by Mourinho’s anger and aggression after the game.
Ederson pulled off a stunning second-half double save to deny United an equaliser.
