Stop criticizing Jose Mourinho and Support him - Andy Cole to fans

ANDY COLE has urged Manchester United fans to keep the faith in Jose Mourinho an stop being jealous guys.
Sections of the support have become increasingly disgruntled by what they see as negative tactics by the Old Trafford boss.
Manchester United legend Andy Cole has urged the clubs supporters to get behind Jose Mourinho
Across town Pep Guardiola’s side have been winning and scoring in spectacular style.
A win today would equal Arsenal’s Premier League record of 14 straight wins – and leave United 11 points behind them.
Even Cole, who won the treble under Sir Alex Ferguson, admits City are sexy and says : “Guardiola is making them into the new Barcelona, no question.
“You have to admire what he is doing and even some of the United fans will be jealous about how it has been going. But there is plenty to admire about Mourinho, too. “And the United fans have to accept that he plays in his own way and stop looking at what’s happening at City. What they might want to remember is that Jose is a winner.
“He’s proved that all the way through his career and he proved it again last season with United.” Cole was seven years at Old Trafford and also spent the 2005-06 season as a City player but there can be no doubts about where his loyalties lie.
He declares : “I enjoyed my short time with City and anybody would like the football they are playing right now. But they have a long way to go to achieve what Sir Alex achieved and the in the style he achieved it. “You still hear United fans harking back to those days and moaning about the way Jose plays by comparison. But they have to get over that.
“He’s not Sir Alex, he’s not Pep Guardiola. He is himself and above all he is a winner. I didn’t hear too many Chelsea fans complaining when he was taking them to titles.”
Last month Mourinho took a pot shot back at United fans who had criticised his containment tactics against Liverpool and Spurs. Before the Champions League clash with Benfica he wrote in his programme notes : “I hope that you enjoy the game more than some of you did against Tottenham.”
The Special One also turned down the chance to meet fans unhappy with him for criticising the atmosphere inside Old Trafford.
But Cole, well on the road to recovery almost eight months after a successful kidney transplant, declares: “The fans have to accept who and what Jose is. They have to accept that he plays in a certain way at times to get results – and he gets those results.
“He can also get his teams to play football as exciting anybody else’s teams. I mean, how would you describe the way United played at Arsenal? “The fans need to stop the criticism, realise he is still only in the early stages of a re – building job at United.
“He was faced with a fare more complicated challenge than Guardiola when he arrived in Manchester.
“It was a far more difficult job and far more changes had to be made.
“But he’s got Pogba and now he’s got Matic and Lukaku and you can see that he is on the right track with the signings he’s making. “It’s a shame Pogba is banned for the derby but doesn’t change my mind about what I reckon the outcome of the game will be.
“United will win it because they need it more and Mourinho needs it more and when he wants something – he usually gets it.”
