Kevin De Bruyne sick of ‘impossible’ Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo comparisons

KEVIN DE BRUYNE is fed up with being compared to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Manchester City playmaker, 26, has scored 11 goals and set up 18 in all competitions this season.
Kevin De Bruyne has been on fire for Manchester City this season
But he insists his numbers do not come close to either of the five-time Ballon d'Or winners.
De Bruyne said: "If I make ten goals, they score 100."
Messi, 30, and Ronaldo, 32, both play up front for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, while De Bruyne pulls the strings in midfield for City.
Messi has 38 goals in all competitions while rival Ronnie has pulled ahead with an incredible 41. De Bruyne explained: "It is impossible to compare me with them.
"Our positions are completely different. “They are much higher on the pitch and score ten times more than me."
Nevertheless, De Bruyne IS being compared with the pair and has been tipped to break Messi and Ronaldo's ten-year hold over the coveted Ballon d'Or by City boss Pep Guardiola. He said: "No doubt.
"He is not one game like this. It’s the whole season, every three days, playing that way.
"He knows, and everyone knows, to be there with that award you have to win titles. Especially one – the Champions League of course."
De Bruyne's Belgium take on Saudi Arabia in a friendly on Tuesday night.
