AC MILAN reveal they intend to sign one of Diego Costa, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Nikola Kalinic. Sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has confirmed he wants a world-class hitman at the San Siro this summer after conducting one of European football’s biggest-ever transfer binges. Milan have signed no less than TEN stars for their first-team, including world-class Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci. Fellow centre-back Mateo Musacchio arrived from Villarreal along with Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez and Atalanta right-back Andrea Conti to also bolster the back line.
Teammate Franck Kessie, Lazio’s Lucas Biglia and Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu will no doubt improve Milan’s midfield.
While Porto forward Andre Silva will lead the charge ahead of Sunderland loanee Fabio Borini, while Gianluigi Donnarumma’s brother Antonio has been signed as back-up between the sticks.
But Mirabelli insists he would like one more top signing in attack to round off an extremely successful title window.
He concedes that Borussia Dortmund star Aubameyang is his dream signing to partner Silva up front.
But Milan could yet move for Chelsea misfit Costa, with Fiorentina’s Kalinic also on their radar.
Mirabelli told QS via Football Italia: “Aubameyang would be fate: he was the first player I went to see live, my first [scouting] trip was for him.
“A new striker? We’re working on it and we can’t mess it up: Kalinic and Diego Costa are also on our list.
“Guarantees? Are [people] aware of what’s been said? If you sign Bonucci and Biglia, you know what you’re doing.
“The turning point of the summer was Donnarumma [signing a new contract], a conquest on which to build everything else.”
