Chelsea to move for Djibril Sidibe

CHELSEA are eyeing a move for Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe, according to reports.
The Premier League champions are still on the hunt to bolster their squad and TransferMarketWeb claim Sidibe is on their radar. Just like London rivals Arsenal, the Blues could be scuppered in their attempts to land the full-back if Kylian Mbappe is sold this summer.
Despite four summer additions, Antonio Conte has complained about the lack of options ahead of the start of their title defence against Burnley on Saturday.
Conte has 14 first-team outfield players at his disposal, and has made it clear to the Stamford Bridge top brass he needs more before the window closes.
And the board looked to be responding with a promise of reinforcements with Premier League and Champions League campaigns to negotiate.
The Italian wants more wing-back options with just Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses at his disposal. The 25-year-old was a key member of Leonardo Jardim’s side which won the Ligue 1 title and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Sidibe is under contract with Monaco until June 2022 and reportedly turned down a move to Arsenal last summer.
And he could become the latest player to leave the principality club, with Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Valere Germain and Tiemoue Bakayoko already gone.
Boss Jardim is resigned to losing another star this summer and said: “All the players who were important last season are important to keep for the club.
“But it has been shown over the years that it’s not always possible to keep the players, and you know how our project works.”
