BARCELONA suspect Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are working together to sabotage their transfer plans, according to reports in Catalonia.
The £198million raked in from Neymar‘s move to Paris Saint-Germain was expected to be spent on securing the arrivals of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele. However, both transfer sagas have protracted — with their respective clubs playing hardball and both rejecting bids of over £100million.
Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona fear Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is in regular contact with his former club, and receiving updates on the future of Dembele.
The Reds are braced for a final bid for Coutinho in Monaco, but are adamant they will not sell the Brazilian.
It is understood the latest offer rejected was at £118m.
Both Liverpool and Dortmund feel Barca have pressured their players into taking action to force through a move.
Coutinho has handed in a transfer request at Anfield, while Dembele has been suspended after failing to turn up for training. With the season already underway in La Liga, Barcelona are no nearer replacing the attacking void left by Neymar.
Angel Di Maria is another target, although relationships with PSG are at an all-time low, following the acrimonious world-record deal for the former Santos star.
Barcelona also want Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.
