Borussia Dortmund 1 Real Madrid 3: Real Madrid ended their winless streak at Borussia Dortmund's home ground.

CRISTIANO RONALDO scored twice as Real Madrid ended their winless streak at Borussia Dortmund's home ground.
Zinedine Zidane's side had never won in six previous attempts at the Westfalenstadion, but they stopped that rot in style tonight (Tuesday). Gareth Bale scored a stunning left-foot volley, and two goals from Ronaldo cancelled out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's strike for Dortmund.
It was Bale who broke the deadlock with 18 minutes on the clock - and in some style.
Dani Carvajal played the ball into the Welsh wizard who was just inside the box, and he rasped home a left-foot volley that beat Roman Burki in the Dortmund goal all ends up.
It also meant that Bale overtook his own boss Zidane (14), as well as club legend Brazilian Ronaldo (14) for Champions League goals with 15.
But the Spanish team were handed a huge let off just five minutes earlier when the referee missed a clear handball from Sergio Ramos from Maximimilian Philipp's cross.
It was the La Liga side who were having the better of the chances in the first half. Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos fluffed superb chances to extend the lead still further. But four minutes into the second half they did make it 2-0, and Bale this time grabbed an assist.
The former Spurs man drove to the byline and squared in a ball into the box and there was Ronaldo to hammer the ball home.
It was a sweet finish to mark his 400th appearance for the club.
But Dortmund, who had never lost a game at home to Real Madrid, got themselves back into the game, and it was a familiar scorer. Gonzalo Castro swung a ball into the box and there was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a deft touch to beat Keylor Navas in the Madrid goal.
But Madrid restored their two-goal advantage, and it was another piece of brilliance from Ronaldo.
The Portuguese striker was picked out by Luka Modric, and he rifled in an effort that almost broke the netting.
That goal knocked the final bit of stuffing out of Dortmund, who surrendered their impressive home record against Real Madrid in Europe rather tamely.
It means Zidane's side take a massive step forward to making the last 16 in the Champions League - and they have also given Spurs a helping hand too in Group H.
