WISSAM BEN YEDDER's hat-trick fired Sevilla to a comfortable victory over Maribor on Tuesday.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side will now be on full alert as they contend for the top spot in group E of the prolific competition. Sevilla took the lead in southern Spain with a tap-in from former Spurs target Ben Yedder, assisted by a terrific run through a sea of players from Joaquin Correa.
The 27-year-old doubled his tally with a neat left-footed effort from a tight angle following an imposing through ball from Franco Vasquez.
He went on to score his hat-trick in the dying stages of the game with a strike from the penalty spot.
Darko Milanic's club failed to find their feet throughout and struggled to contain the Sevilla strike force from the off.
Elsewhere in the competition, Porto forward Vincent Aboubakar capitalised on Monaco's slow start and struck the first goal home after just half an hour.
The Cameroonian had a sequence of shot's saved, but he managed to bury the third effort from close range into an open net. Monaco's star-studded line-up, which includes Radamel Falcao and Thomas Lemar, failed to break down Sergio Conceicao's well-knit side.
Aboubakar bagged his second in the 69th minute, followed by Miguel Layun's 89th minute scrambled strike.
Meanwhile Napoli defeated Feyenoord 3-0, with Lorenzo Insigne sending a ferocious opening strike past the outstretched hand of Brad Jones.
The 26-year-old broke into Feyenoord's half easily, before slotting the ball into the corner of the net from outside of the area - assisted by Jose Callejon.
The visitors continued to look unsettled in the second half and they gifted a simple Dries Mertens goal. Jose Callejon made it three with an effort from the right side of the box, following an assist from Dries Mertens.
Sofyan Ambrabat scored a late concelation goal for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side.
Ryan Babel scored Besikta's opener at the Vodafone Arena - the former Liverpool ace buried the left-footed strike from the centre of the area, following an assist from Cenk Tosun.
Anderson Talisca headed the home the second just before the interval - the fixture finished 2-0.
